Intermittent road closure along State Route (SR) 43, between Poplar Avenue and Avenue 120 in Kings County for work on a high speed rail overpass.

Closures are intermittent between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. from Monday, Sept. 23 through Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024.

Detour

Northbound State Route 43 Detour

  • Traffic going northbound on SR 43 will be detoured east on Avenue 120, north on Road 96 / Pratt Street, then west on Poplar Avenue / Avenue 144 and onto SR 43.

Southbound State Route 43 Detour

  • Traffic going southbound on State Route 43 will be detoured east on Poplar Avenue / Avenue 144, south on Pratt Street / Road 96, then west on Hesse Avenue / Avenue 120 onto SR 43.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access will be maintained for all property and business owners.

Description

Fresno, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados- Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces intermittent road closures along State Route (SR) 43, between Poplar Avenue and Avenue 120 in Kings County for work on a high-speed rail overpass. Closures are intermittent between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m. from Monday, Sept. 23 through Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024.

This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
