Closure

MULTIPLE CLOSURES:

  • Intermittent closure of the northbound SR 99 off-ramp to Herndon Avenue;
  • Intermittent lane closures along the northbound SR 99 off-ramp to Herndon Avenue;
  • Intermittent lane closures along Herndon Avenue between Parkway Drive and Hayes Avenue;
  • Lane closure along Riverside Drive, south of Herndon Avenue.

Work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Sunday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Nov. 1, 2024.

Detour

NORTHBOUND SR-99 TO HERNDON AVENUE DETOUR:

  • Traffic along northbound SR 99 will be detoured to the Veterans Boulevard off-ramp, then west on Veterans Boulevard, south on the Golden State Boulevard interchange, then north on Golden State Boulevard to Herndon Avenue.

WESTBOUND HERNDON AVENUE TRUCK DETOUR:

  • Southbound truck traffic along Golden State Boulevard will be detoured north on the Veterans Boulevard interchange, east on Veterans Boulevard, then north on Riverside Drive to Herndon Avenue.

Flaggers and signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access to all businesses and residents will be maintained.

 

Description

Fresno, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces multiple nighttime closures along northbound State Route (SR) 99 off ramp, Herndon Avenue and Riverside Drive in Fresno for utility work. Work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Sunday, Oct. 20 through Friday, Nov. 1, 2024.

This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
