MULTIPLES CLOSURES:
- Lane closure along southbound Golden State Boulevard to Herndon Avenue;
- Road closure along Golden State Boulevard between Herndon Avenue and Veterans Boulevard.
Work is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, and will continue through summer 2027.

Detour
STATE ROUTE (SR) 99 TO SOUTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR:
- Traffic traveling along SR 99 to southbound on Golden State Boulevard will be detoured west on Herndon Avenue, south on Parkway Drive, south on Grantland Avenue, east on Shaw Avenue, then north on Veterans Boulevard to Golden State Boulevard.
- Alternatively, southbound traffic along Golden State Boulevard can also be detoured east on Herndon Avenue, south on Riverside Drive, south on the Veterans Boulevard interchange and onto Golden State Boulevard.
NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD DETOUR:
- Traffic travelling north on Golden State Boulevard will be detoured east on Veterans Boulevard, north on Riverside Drive, then west onto Herndon Avenue to Golden State Boulevard.
Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access will be maintained to all businesses and residents.
Description
Fresno, CALIF. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces multiple closures along Golden State Boulevard and Herndon Avenue in Fresno for work on a high-speed rail grade separation. Work is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 6, 2025, and will continue through summer 2027.
This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.
All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
