Closure

MULTIPLE ROAD CLOSURES IN FRESNO FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A HIGH-SPEED RAIL GRADE SEPARATION:

  • Road closure along McKinley Avenue, between State Route (SR) 99 southbound on-ramp to West Avenue in Fresno;
  • Closure of the State Route (SR) 99 off-ramp to McKinley Avenue.
  • Road closure along Weber Avenue between McKinley and Clinton avenues (Weber Avenue, between Clinton and Weldon avenues will be open to local traffic only);
  • Road closure along West Avenue, between Golden State Boulevard and Olive Avenue.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, July 8, 2024 and will continue through July 2025. This schedule is subject to change.

Detour

EASTBOUND MCKINLEY AVENUE DETOUR FROM MARKS AVENUE:

  • Traffic going east on McKinley Avenue will be detoured north on Marks Avenue, east on Clinton Avenue, then south on West Avenue to McKinley Avenue.

NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TO EASTBOUND MCKINLEY AVENUE DETOUR:

  • Traffic going north on Golden State Boulevard to eastbound McKinley Avenue will be detoured onto northbound SR 99, exit on the Clinton Avenue off-ramp, east on Clinton Avenue, then south on West Avenue to McKinley Avenue.

NORTHBOUND STATE ROUTE 99 TO EASTBOUND MCKINLEY AVENUE DETOUR:

  • Traffic going north on SR 99 to eastbound McKinley Avenue will be detoured north to the Clinton Avenue off-ramp, east on Clinton Avenue, then south on West Avenue to McKinley Avenue.

SOUTHBOUND STATE ROUTE 99 TO EASTBOUND MCKINLEY AVENUE DETOUR:

  • Traffic going south on SR 99 to eastbound McKinley Avenue will be detoured to the Clinton Avenue off-ramp, east on Clinton Avenue, then south on West Avenue to McKinley Avenue.

WESTBOUND MCKINLEY AVENUE DETOUR FROM WEST AVENUE:

  • Traffic going west on McKinley Avenue will be detoured north on West Avenue, west on Clinton Avenue, then south on Marks Avenue to McKinley Avenue.

SOUTHBOUND WEBER AVENUE TO WESTBOUND MCKINLEY AVENUE TRUCK DETOUR:

  • Truck traffic going along southbound Weber Avenue will be detoured west on Clinton Avenue, then south on Marks Avenue to McKinley Avenue.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access will be maintained to all businesses and property owners.

Description

Fresno, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces multiple road closures along McKinley, Weber and West avenues in Fresno for high-speed rail construction. Work will include construction of a high-speed rail grade separation and a new realigned intersection at McKinley Avenue and Golden State Boulevard. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, July 8, 2024 and will continue through July 2025.This schedule is subject to change.

This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
