Closure
MULTIPLE LANE AND SHOULDER CLOSURES FOR UTILITY WORK:
- Lane and shoulder closures along H Street, between Harrison and Arroyo avenues;
- Lane and shoulder closures along Palm Avenue, between H Street and Franklin Avenue.
Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Oct. 11 and will continue through Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023.
Detour
- Trucks going north on H Street will be detoured east on Divisadero Street, north on Abby Street west on Belmont Avenue, then north on H Street.
SOUTHBOUND H STREET TRUCK DETOUR
- Trucks going south on H Street will be detoured east on Belmont Avenue, south on Blackstone Avenue, then west on Divisadero Street to H Street.
SOUTHBOUND H STREET TO NORTHBOUND PALM AVENUE DETOUR
- Trucks going south on H Street to Palm Avenue will be detoured south on H Street, east on Divisadero Street, north on Abby Street, then west on Belmont Avenue to Palm Avenue.
NORTHBOUND H STREET TO NORTHBOUND PALM AVENUE TRUCK DETOUR
- Trucks going north on H Street to Palm Avenue will be detoured north on H Street, then east on Belmont Avenue to Palm Avenue.
SOUTHBOUND H STREET TO NORTHBOUND PALM AVENUE TRUCK DETOUR
- Trucks going south on H Street to northbound Palm Avenue will be detoured south on H Street, east on Divisadero Street, north on Abby Street, then west on Belmont Avenue to Palm Avenue.
SOUTHBOUND PALM AVENUE TO H STREET TRUCK DETOUR
- Trucks going south on Palm Avenue to H Street will be detoured west on Belmont Avenue to H Street.
Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Pedestrian access will be restricted in some areas.
Description
This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.
All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
