MULTIPLE CLOSURES:
- Road closure along Herndon Avenue, between Parkway Drive and Riverside Drive;
- Intermittent lane closures along Herndon Avenue, between Golden State Boulevard and Riverside Drive;
- Road closure along northbound SR 99 Herndon Avenue off-ramp;
- Lane closures along Golden State Boulevard, north and south of Herndon Avenue;
- Lane closure along Riverside Drive at Herndon Avenue.
Work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will continue through Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025.
Detour
EASTBOUND HERNDON AVENUE DETOUR:
- Traffic going eastbound on Herndon Avenue will be detoured south on Parkway Drive, south on Grantland Avenue, east on Shaw Avenue, north on Veterans Boulevard, west on the Veterans Boulevard interchange, then north on Golden State Boulevard to Herndon Avenue.
WESTBOUND HERNDON AVENUE DETOUR:
- Traffic going westbound on Herndon Avenue will be detoured south on Golden State Boulevard, east on the Veterans Boulevard interchange, south on Veterans Boulevard, west on Shaw Avenue, north on Grantland Avenue, then north on Parkway Drive to Herndon Avenue.
NORTHBOUND SR 99 TO EASTBOUND HERNDON AVENUE DETOUR:
- Traffic going northbound on SR 99 will be detoured east on the Veterans Boulevard off-ramp, west on the Veterans Boulevard interchange, then north on Golden State Boulevard to Herndon Avenue.
NORTHBOUND SR 99 TO WESTBOUND HERNDON AVENUE DETOUR:
- Traffic going northbound on SR 99 will be detoured east on the Veterans Boulevard off-ramp, south on Veterans Boulevard, west on Shaw Avenue, north on Grantland Avenue, then north on Parkway Drive to Herndon Avenue.
NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TO EASTBOUND HERNDON AVENUE DETOUR:
- Traffic going northbound on Golden State Boulevard to eastbound Herndon Avenue will be detoured east on the Veterans Boulevard interchange, east on Veterans Boulevard, then north on Golden State Boulevard to Herndon Avenue.
NORTHBOUND GOLDEN STATE BOULEVARD TO WESTBOUND HERNDON AVENUE DETOUR:
- Traffic going northbound on Golden State Boulevard will be detoured east on the Veterans Boulevard interchange, south on Veterans Boulevard, west on Shaw Avenue, north on Grantland Avenue, then north on Parkway Drive to Herndon Avenue.
Description
Fresno, CALIF. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces multiple closures along Herndon Avenue, Golden State Boulevard and Northbound SR-99 Herndon Avenue off-ramp in Fresno for utility work. Work is scheduled from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will continue through Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2025.
This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.
All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel.
