MULTIPLE CLOSURES:

  • Nighttime closure of the southbound SR 99 to Herndon Avenue off-ramp will occur from 9 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, to 6 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2024.
  • Intermittent lane and shoulder closures along Golden State Boulevard between Herndon Avenue and SR-99 off-ramp starting Thursday, Dec. 26, 2024, through Friday, Mar. 14, 2025.

Detour

KATHRYN AVENUE TO NORTHBOUND SR 99 DETOUR:

  • Traffic along Kathryn Avenue to northbound SR 99 will be detoured south on Golden State Boulevard, west on Veterans Boulevard, and onto the northbound SR 99 on-ramp. 

Signage will be in place to direct traffic.

Pedestrian access will be restricted.

Access to all businesses and residents will be maintained.

Description

Fresno, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Tutor-Perini / Zachry / Parsons (TPZP), announces multiple closures along State Route (SR) 99 and Golden State Boulevard in Fresno for utility work. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, and will continue through Friday, March 14, 2025.

This work is part of Construction Package 1 (CP 1), the first 32-mile stretch of high-speed rail between Avenue 19 in Madera County and East American Avenue in Fresno County.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
