A cul-de-sac will be built along westbound Nevada Avenue.

The closure will go into effect starting Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.

Detour

Access will be maintained for local traffic, business, and property owners

Description

The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces the permanent closure of Nevada Avenue, between State Route (SR) 43 and Sixth Avenue in Kings County. The closure will go into effect starting Monday, Jan. 17, 2022.

This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
