MULTIPLE PERMANENT ROAD CLOSURES IN FRESNO COUNTY:

  • Permanent road closure along Clarkson Avenue, at the BNSF railroad tracks between Clovis and Peach avenues;
  • Permanent road closure at Minnewawa Avenue at the BNSF railroad tracks between Clarkson and Elkhorn avenues in Fresno County.

The closures will go into effect starting Monday, Feb. 10, 2025. Construction of three cul-de-sacs will follow.

 

Detour

Signage will be in place to direct traffic.

Access will be maintained for all property and business owners.

Description

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces permanent road closures along Clarkson Avenue, at the BNSF railroad tracks between Clovis and Peach avenues; and along Minnewawa Avenue, at the BNSF railroad tracks between Clarkson and Elkhorn avenues in Fresno County. Closures will go into effect on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025. Construction of three cul-de-sacs will follow.

This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
