Work is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Thursday, Nov. 16 through Friday, Dec. 22, 2023.

Detour

WESTBOUND FLINT AVENUE DETOUR

  • Traffic going westbound on Flint Avenue will be detoured south on Seventh Avenue, west on Fargo Avenue, north on 8 ½ Avenue, then west on Flint Avenue.

EASTBOUND FLINT AVENUE DETOUR

  • Traffic going eastbound on Flint Avenue will be detoured south on 8 ½ Avenue, east on Fargo Avenue, north on Seventh Avenue, then east on Flint Avenue.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic. Access will be maintained to all residents and businesses.

Description

Kings County, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces a daytime road closure along Flint Avenue, between Seventh and 8 ½ avenues in Kings County for utility work. Work is scheduled from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Thursday, November 16 through Friday, Dec. 22, 2023.

This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County
and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel.
