Closure
Full road closure along Elkhorn Avenue, between Clovis and Fowler avenues in Fresno County for construction of a high-speed rail overcrossing.
Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 5, 2021 and will continue through February 2023.
Detour
EASTBOUND TRAFFIC:
Traffic going eastbound on Elkhorn Avenue will be detoured north on Cedar Avenue, east on Conejo Avenue, south on Fowler Avenue, then east or west on Elkhorn Avenue.
WESTBOUND TRAFFIC:
Traffic going westbound on Elkhorn Avenue will be detoured north on Fowler Avenue, west on Conejo Avenue, south on Cedar Avenue, then west on Elkhorn Avenue.
Signage will be in place to direct traffic.
Description
The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces a full road closure along Elkhorn Avenue, between Clovis and Fowler avenues in Fresno County for construction of a high-speed rail overcrossing. Work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, May 5, 2021 and will continue through February 2023.
This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.
All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
