Detour

NORTHBOUND TRAFFIC:

  • Traffic going northbound on Ninth Avenue will be detoured east on Cairo Avenue, north on Eighth Avenue, west on Corona Avenue, then north on Ninth Avenue.

SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC:

  • Traffic going southbound on Ninth Avenue will be detoured east on Corona Avenue, south on Eighth Avenue, west on Cairo Avenue, then south on Ninth Avenue.

Signage will be in place to direct traffic.

Access will be maintained for all property and business owners.

Description

Kings County, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces a road closure along Ninth Avenue, between Cairo and Corona avenues in Kings County for road improvements. Work will continue through Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023.

This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel. The public is asked to drive carefully and be extra cautious while traveling though the construction areas.
