Detour

Westbound Poplar Avenue/Avenue 144 Detour:

  • Traffic traveling westbound on Poplar Avenue/ Avenue 144 will detour north on SR 43, west on Sante Fe Avenue, south on Fourth Avenue, and west onto Quebec/Poplar Avenue.

Eastbound Poplar Avenue/Avenue 144 Detour:

  • Traffic traveling eastbound on Quebec/Poplar Avenue will detour north on Fourth Avenue, east on Santa Fe Avenue, south on SR 43, and east on Poplar Avenue/Avenue 144.

Signage and flaggers will be in place to direct traffic.

Description

Tulare County, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces a road closure along Poplar Avenue/Avenue 144 between State Route (SR) 43 and Fourth Avenue in Tulare County for ongoing work at the
Tule River Viaduct. Work will continue through Friday, April 17, 2026.

This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
