Temporary traffic shift along SR 43 between Nevada and Lansing avenues in Kings County for construction of a high-speed rail structure and road improvements. Traffic will be shifted slightly east onto a bypass road.

Work is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 and will continue through November 2024.

Description

Kings County, Calif. – The California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority), in cooperation with design-build contractor Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture (DFJV), announces a temporary traffic shift along State Route (SR) 43, between Nevada and Lansing avenues in Kings County for construction of a high-speed rail structure and road improvements. Work is scheduled to begin Monday, Nov. 6, 2023 and will continue through November 2024. Traffic will be shifted slightly east onto a bypass road.

This work is part of Construction Package 2-3 (CP 2-3), the 65-mile stretch of high-speed rail between East American Avenue in Fresno County
and one-mile north of the Tulare-Kern County line.

All construction activities and schedules are subject to change. The California High-Speed Rail project is considered a critical infrastructure sector, and as the project continues, staff, contractors and construction workers are following specific guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all employees due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Traffic laws will be fully enforced and commuters are expected to be aware of the surrounding activities, remain alert and watch for construction vehicles and personnel.
