On June 26, 2024, the California High-Speed Rail Authority (Authority) announced today the Flint Avenue overcrossing is now open to traffic in Kings County.

Located north of the city of Hanford and designed and constructed by Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture to take traffic over the future high-speed rail tracks, the Flint Avenue overcrossing is the latest high-speed rail structure to be completed and opened to traffic in the Central Valley.

The Flint Avenue overcrossing in Kings County is nearly complete. Crews are working on paving and striping the structure ahead of opening the bridge and roadway to traffic. Flint Avenue is expected to open to traffic later this spring. When complete, the overcrossing will span 205 feet long and more than 40-feet wide.

Also in Kings County, construction has begun on two new overcrossings, one at Flint Avenue and one at Fargo Avenue east of SR 43 just outside of Hanford. About 49 trucks per hour are hauling approximately 56,000 cubic yards of earth per day to build up the embankments.
